Set in the town square in Orford with some outside seating, this great pub has a wide menu with generous portions and a good selection of local beers..

Great local historic pub down near the river quay. Perfect for a pre or post river wall walk! Good beers and wines served with local food such as suffolk ham, cod and chips, whitebait or a good steak! Children welcome.

   

The Butley Oysterage Orford

For those who love their seafood, especially crabs and oysters, this is the place for you. What started as a little café that sold oysters and cups of tea has become a famous, large, bustling, no-nonsense restaurant. It still specializes in oysters and smoked salmon, as well as smoked seafood platters and seasonal fish dishes. The actual smoking takes place in the adjacent smokehouse, products are for sale in a shop around the corner.

   

Lady Florence River Cruise Restaurant

Sailing all year round, including Christmas Day, with a cosy coal fire in winter, the Lady Florence River Cruise Restaurant is designed to provide a different and exciting dining experience as it journeys up and down the river Alde. Sit on the deck enjoying the river views and birdlife then dine inside in the cosy cabin. Booking essential. Departs and returns from Orford Quay.

   

Riverside Tearoom Orford Quay

4 miles / 10 mins drive

This is a lovely spot just past the quay, next to the fishermans shed and overlooking the river Alde and Orford Ness. On warm days you can sit outside on the decking and enjoy the view. Great selection of cakes and sandwiches along with cooked breakfast and fresh coffee. Recommended along with a riverside walk!

   

The Plough & Sail Pub Snape

5 miles / 12 mins drive

Great pub run by twin brothers. Great food and wines, twinned with the excellent location of the Snape Maltings with its Concert Hall, Shopping and river walks.

   

The Golden Key Pub Snape

5 miles / 12 mins drive

Just around the corner from the Crown in Snape is another cosy pub. Ideal on a sunny day with its outside south facing patio. Good food.

The Lighthouse restaurant Aldeburgh

We've enjoyed going here since they first opened 20+ years ago on the hightstreet! Good atmostphere and excellent local seafood and other delicious dishes.Older children welcome but not smalls!

   

Regatta Restaurant Aldeburgh

Similar style of place and eating to the Lighthouse! Good food and wine in a fun setting on the main hightstreet with a seafood slant to the menu. But then you are by the seaside!

   

Fish & Chip Shop Aldeburgh

11 miles / 25 mins drive

Famous local fish and chip shop. Ideal for lunch in your lap on the beach on a sunny day. They have another one further up the high street "Golden Galleon" which is open all seasons and has dining upstairs. This can have much shorted queues in summer than their main restaurant.

   

The Anchor Walberswick

20 miles / 39 mins drive

The Anchor is an award-winning inn and restaurant in the charming village of Walberswick across the river from Southwold. Great place for lunch then a walk along the beach and sand dunes.
